Hi, you might think that Bean Raider is a very strange an inappropriate name for a Luxor Forum. Actually, it seemed rather appropriate to me as it is the nearest I could get to "Tomb Raider". This is how I see many people, who in the name of historical research, raid the tombs and final resting places of the dead. The first tomb raiders were the Amun priests who plundered the tombs for their gold. Nowadays, its not so much the gold that people are after; it is knowledge they are seeking.
I have always had mixed feelings about disturbing the graves of the dead, mostly for religious reasons, but nevertheless in the search for knowledge I am one of those 'raiders' because with knowledge about the past, we may have some better understanding at looking at our own future prospects for survival, if not in this world, then in the next.

Welcome Bran Raider. I am Awesome. I chose the name because that it was L:uxor is - Awesome. The tombs and temples blow me away. I have high hopes that this site might eventually feed my thirst for knowledge of what made those Pharaohs tick.

Its Bean Raider, Awesome, not Bran Raider but you are forgiven. I dare say the tombs do in fact 'blow you away'. Unfortunately, as I shall soon be inhabiting one myself on a permanent basis, I am not too keen on them myself. However, the lives of the living are quite interesting, especially in Luxor.
